Nine Year Old Befriends Bus Driver
Nine year old and fourth grader A’Delyn Williams started this school year doing something that she has never done before, board a school bus on her own. "My daughter is visually impaired. And today was her first time getting on the bus by herself," Ambrea Raspberry (mother) explained in her recent video. "She did it and I’m so proud of her. Ambrea stated that she had taken her daughter to school for many years but then suddenly A'Delyn had a change of heart. "A’Delyn wasn’t too excited about going back to school because she said she doesn’t have many friends," Raspberry said. "That’s until she learned I have decided to let her ride the bus as she wished."
When A'Delyn returned home from school last week, what she told her mother was not only heart-warming but amazing. A'Delyn told her mother that she befriended the bus driver-Mr. Ryan. If you click on the link below, you will see a video of Mr. Ryan getting off the bus holding an umbrella over A'Delyn's head as she navigates the path up to her house in the rain. The kindness that Mr. Ryan has showed A'Delyn has allowed her to feel safe and confident when going to and from school. "A’Delyx says her favorite part of school is the bus ride there and home," Raspberry told FOX News. "Mr. Ryan is so good with her and all the other special needs children."
A simple act of kindness like this can go a long way. Be the change you want to see!
