Two Coworkers Donate Kidney to Each Other's Husband
Last year, two women who work at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta were talking and realized that they had something in common. Tia Wimbush and and Susan Ellis both have husbands who were experiencing kidney failure.
It was after hearing this that they discovered that each of them could save their coworkers husband's life.
As they were discussing the transplant process, the two started talking about what blood type each of their husbands had and realized that they could both be a potential match for each other's husband.
After a delay due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, all four of them were able to undergo transplant surgeries, on the same day!
"We skipped friendship," Wimbush said. "We bypassed friendship and we are absolutely family now."
