Rainforest Rhyolite

Science & Origin of Rainforest Rhyolite

Rainforest Rhyolite, also known as Rainforest Jasper and Australian Rainforest Jasper, is a variety of Rhyolite that crystallizes in mass formation. The pattern is unique and resembles a lush rainforest, with hues of green and brown-blotted patterns throughout. This can somewhat resemble Ocean Jasper pieces, especially when in a smaller, polished form. The structure of Rainforest Rhyolite is mainly Quartz but has inclusions of feldspar, hornblende, and rhyolite which all help to create its color and appearance. Rainforest Rhyolite is mainly found in Australia, South Africa, India, Madagascar, and the U.S.
