Science & Origin of Cotton Candy Agate
Cotton Candy Agate is a variety of Agate with brecciated pink and peach jasper that crystallized in massive formation. In between the brecciation, white and cream colored chalcedony filled the gaps, creating a very aesthetic color palette. The naming of this material is due to the combination of colors looking like Cotton Candy desserts and the vibrant appearance when polished. This agate was discovered in 2017, and was debuted at the Tucson Gem Show in 2018, becoming very popular for jewelers. Since then, we have noticed a large influx of this material going directly to manufacturers who create towers, spheres, palmstones, free forms, and hearts.
