Science & Origin of Midnight Lace Obsidian
Midnight Lace Obsidian is a new mineral that was recently found in the Caucasus Mountains (Armenia). A very small deposit was also found in Oregon (USA) however this deposit was deemed economically insufficient and has no commercial use. This variety is only known to have crystallized in the form of masses, but is highly desired for its unique mixture of transparent and black layers. Crafters and sculptors have been trying to get their hands on this material for cutting and shaping since its discovery. Popular shapes they create are arrowheads, pyramids, obelisks, palm stones, cubes, and hearts.
Dr. Glester at the University of Vienna has thoroughly been testing samples of this newly unearthed crystal. His findings have led this Obsidian variety to be the most complex yet. This is because of its chemical body containing traces of potassium, silicon, aluminum, manganese, iron, titanium, calcium, rubidium, strontium, and zirconium.
