Rainbow Fluorite, also known as Rainbow Striped Fluorite, is a variety of Fluroite that crystallizes in massive formations. This type of Fluorite is multi-colored and known for its banding pattern of purples, greens, blues, yellows, and colorless hues that resemble a rainbow. Some pieces can be sold as raw, but most of the crystals on the market are sold in a polished, shaped variety. The most common shape that is usually purchased is in slab formation, which is a thin, elongated piece that is cut from a larger specimen and polished to showcase the colors and transparencies. This is usually displayed by collectors on a stand with a light behind it that produces bright colors that become a beautiful nightlight for any altar or crystal showcase.
The highest quality Rainbow Fluorite comes from China and Mexico. The China variety has more colors that formed naturally when this crystal was created, while the Fluorite that formed in Mexico has more of a green, blue, and purple color palette.
