Silk Fluorite is a variety of Fluorite that crystallizes in massive formations. It contains purple and white fluorite that is usually crystallized in a banded pattern, with higher-quality pieces having translucent or clear fluorite as well. This material is usually found in a variety of mines in China, but can also be found in Fluorite deposits in Madagascar, France, Russia, Mongolia, and the USA. Silk Fluorite is usually sold as a polished shape, such as towers, spheres, palmstones, pocket pieces, or jewelry. The appearance of it in raw form is less aesthetic, which makes it harder to acquire, as most pieces go to manufacturing facilities.
Silk Fluorite is different than Rainbow Fluorite, although they are sometimes mislabeled and sold under the wrong name. Rainbow Fluorite has many different colors it can form in, such as green, yellow, blue, and purple. The transition between these colors is defined, and when polished, show the layers of the fluorite very easily. Silk Fluorite has more of a quartz-like appearance, where the purple flourite have a similar look to an impurity, rather than a crystal itself. This is comparable to Amethyst or natural Citrine inclusions within Quartz, where you can see the impurity that occurred as the quartz was forming.
Silk Fluorite carries a smooth, flowing energy that brings mental calm and emotional balance. Its soft, fibrous appearance reflects how it gently organizes scattered thoughts and eases overstimulation. This stone supports focus and clarity while helping you slow down and stay present. Working with Silk Fluorite encourages a relaxed, steady mindset where insight can surface naturally without pressure or strain.
