Hackmanite with Ijolite is a combination stone that crystallizes in massive formations. Hackmanite, a member of the Sodalite family, is UV reactive and contains the igneous rock Ijolite. This mineral is composed of Nepheline and Augite, with minor impurities of Garnet, Calcite, Titanite, Apatite, Cancrinite, and Perovskite. The color is gray with black spots of Ijolite throughout and blue gemmy impurities of Hackmanite. Deposits of this stone are very limited in the Ice River Complex, British Columbia, Canada, and is the only occurrence of Hackmanite in Western Canada.
